This week, I dove into the importance of how audio stories are told. There were many things that I had not considered before, and will be recapping in this blog post. So far, Ive enjoyed learning about the craft and goind in depth on how important each technique is. There was nothing in this process that bothered me, as I was genuinely excited to learn about how to improve this skill. What did drive me a bit crazy, though, was how many aspects there are to consider when putting together a story. This left me slightly concerned for when it is my turn to create one, but I am moving forward with an open mind!
About Audio Storytelling
In terms of how to be a good storyteller, I picked up some advice from expert Ira Glass. He explains the importance of various techniques, finding a good subject material, and how to keep listeners engaged. For more depth on audio storytelling itself, check out my blog post here.

Next, I listened to a podcast. Podcasts are one of the most common and popular way to share audio stories. In listening to the mysterious, spooky podcast, I learned a few things about how storytelling techniques are used in practice. They can change the story completely depending on placement. From background noises to musical scoring, the podcast kept me completely engaged, curious, and always asking new questions. Check out a more in-depth explanation here.
Next week, I’ll be re-visiting these techniques and practices while creating my own audio assignments. Dont forget to come back and check as I learn more about the craft, and probably fail a few times on my way to success.

All in all, this assignment has taught me a lot abouf the importance of audio in a digital atmosphere. Creating my own assignments was incredibly enjoyable, and I hope you like them too. It was hard to figure out editing techniques working with a new platform at first, which drove me a little crazy. The time I spent editing the last four audio assignments was easier than I thought it woud be because I had procrastinated due to how stressed out the spooky story made me. The rest of the entire assignment, I loved. Getting creative with audio was something I had never done before, and look forward to doing more.
